Research Responsibilities and Professional Interests

Novel techniques in plant breeding are being developed for potential contributions to strawberry improvement. We have developed an effective Agrobacterium-mediated transformation using strawberry cultures. We also targeted some susceptible genes using CRISPR/Cas9 technology in order to increase resistance to bacteria, i.e., crown infection pockets caused by  Xanthomonas fragariae , to pathogen, i.e., powdery mildew, in strawberry.
